Gabe Anderson: "Friday" cityscape, 2013

Opening reception: Saturday April 11, 2015 1:30 p.m - 3:30 p.m.

The Reason Why is the first one man exhibition for Gabe Anderson. Gabe is an artist who lives with a number of developmental challenges. His unique work has been shown Internationally in Tokyo, Japan and Washington, D.C.

As a Canadian Art Brut artist who works in drawings and prints, he has been working and exhibiting since 1992. Gabe's father, Robert J. Anderson, was a painter of the Canadian Landscape as well as a representational artist.

The Reason Why is the title of the exhibition in that Creative Spirit Art Centre was created because Gabe needed a place to make, exhibit and sell art. He's "the reason why" his mother started the CSAC public art gallery/studio and resource and information centre. Gabe's works can be described as abstract interpretations of the urban landscape.

His various disabilities did not allow him access to a formal visual art education, studios, art schools or art galleries which has lead to the development of a truly original body of work that continues to evolve over 23 years since the founding of Creative Spirit Art Centre.

Please join us for this special exhibition!
